Each year the US postal service has a social awareness stamp, and this year is all about animal rescue, they selected pictures of actual pets who've been adopted from a local shelter. In celebration of the new Animal Rescue: Adopt a Shelter Pet stamps, the Postal Service?, together with Ellen DeGeneres and Halo: Purely for Pets, is giving shelter pets around the country a First-Class Meal. During the launch of the stamps, Halo will be donating a million meals to animal shelters around the country.
Sacramento & Company at News10 is happy to announce that our partners the City of Sacramento Animal Care Services as well as the Sacramento SPCA were selected to receive 5000 meals on behalf of the Ellen Degeneres show, Halo, Purely for Pets and of course News10.
This morning Penny Cistaro, the Sacramento City Animal Shelter Director joined us to accept the donation certificate and to explain how their shelter is going to benefit from the meals.
