It's the latest martial arts craze hitting gyms and martial arts studios across the nation. Poomsae is korean form of martial arts that has only been in the US for three years. In that time it has grown in popularity with exhibitions and championship events delighting and winning over martial arts fans.
Called a "ballistic ballet," Poomsae is not a sparring competition but is an individual sport where competitors are judged on execution and form. Taren Ogata is a Poomsae champion and instructor. Taren along with Poomsae expert Clint Robinson demonstrate the technique behind Pooomsae and discuss an upcoming championship event that is open to the public!
