Social media sites are all the rage with young people and adults. With facebook and other sites used so pervasively, kids who have access to computers definitely want to be a part of what's culturally popular and trendy. However just because your eight year old wants to be friends with her peers on facebook doesn't mean you should allow it nor is it legal. Not all social media sites are inappropriate for kids, however it is up to the parents to educate themselves on what's out there and how and where their kids spend their time online.

Hilary DeCesare, is the co-founder and CEO of Everloop,  which provides kids 13 and under with age appropriate content and the social networking power they desire but built in with online privacy technologies so parents can rest easy. Hilary chats with hosts Guy Farris and Jodie Moreno about the importance of protecting kids from online dangers.
