FOLSOM, CA - Firefighters pulled a 2-year-old child out of a Folsom work-out center pool Monday afternoon.
The child was revived and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital of Folsom, according to city of Folsom spokeswoman Sue Ryan.
The incident was reported at California Family Fitness at 700 Oak Avenue Parkway at approximately 12:15 p.m.
California Family Fitness President Randy Karr issued a statement that the toddler, who was under family care at the time, was doing well and that his staff had responded immediately by calling for emergency responders and aiding firefighters with administering cardio pulmonary resusitation.
Karr urged parents and guardians to maintain oversight of children at all times, saying California Family Fitness has trained deck supervisors but are no lifeguards on duty.
