SACRAMENTO, CA - When the temperature rises, so does the threat of a shattered windshield. That's according to Fernando Cabe, a mobile windshield repairman.
"Windshields crack under pressure, even when there is the smallest chip or crack," said Cabe. He says too much heat inside of a vehicle causes the glass to expand and eventually crack.
Cabe said a resin solution can fix the cracks and prevent expensive windshield replacements. "It will cost a couple hundred dollars to replace the windshield and the crack can be fixed for about $40."
Cabe offered some tips on how to protect your windshield. He says never put cold water on your windshield in the heat nor the cold. He says it helps to roll down the winds a bit to create circulation.
