DAVIS, Calif. - Four schools in Davis were placed on lockdown on Thursday after students reported seeing a person with a gun at a park near Davis Senior High School.
The high school, North Davis Elementary, St. James Elementary School and King High School were placed on lockdown around 10:45 a.m. after two students reported seeing the armed person, according to the Davis Joint USD superintendent.
Davis police were dispatched to the area and found the person described as having a gun. Officers learned the person had had a BB gun in his possession which he had discarded prior to police finding him, Lt. Glenn Glasgow said. The BB gun was found by officers.
The lockdowns were subsequently lifted.
No arrests were made, according to police.
