SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento-area man charged with raping three women within a month in 2011 was found guilty of six counts of sexual assault including rape and forcible oral copulation, says the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office.
The prosecution accused Ladell Lamont Sanders of threatening his victims with a gun and driving them to isolated locations in south Sacramento to attack them. The rapes were reported as taking place on Nov. 15, 2011; Dec. 10, 2011; and Dec. 13, 2011.
According to court documents, after the assaults, Sanders left his victims stranded in the remote areas.
The D.A.'s office says investigators linked Sanders to the crimes from a Nov. 1, 2011 traffic stop and DNA evidence collected from the Dec. 13, 2011 assault.
Sanders, who is scheduled to be sentenced March 15, is the older brother of the man dubbed the "Roaming Rapist", Derrick Jermaine Sanders. The latter was charged last November with multiple rapes committed over 14 years in Sacramento and the county.
