BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - A Butte County homeowner lost a collection of guns during a burglary in the early hours of Friday morning.

According to Sergeant Mike Lydon of the Butte County Sheriff's Office, a deputy was called to the 1000 block of Township Rd. in Gridley at 12:54 a.m. on Friday, in response to a home burglary. Upon arrival at the scene, the deputy learned that several firearms had been stolen.

During the ensuing investigation into the burglary, the deputy was able to develop a lead in the case from a witness report, which included the license plate of a suspicious vehicle seen in the vicinity of the burglary, said Lydon.

On Sunday, deputies from Butte County Sheriff's Office, Sutter County Sheriff's Department and the Yuba County Sheriff's Department, along with officers from the Yuba City Police Department conducted a probation search at 2641 South Walton in Yuba City. During the search several of the firearms stolen in Friday's burglary were recovered, Lydon said.

Donald Hake was arrested and placed in the Yuba County Jail on a parole violation and other unrelated charges. He faces charges for the burglary in Butte County as well, said Lydon.
