On Wednesday around 8 a.m., police took Acuna into custody inside of his apartment on the 1400 block of Brewerton Drive without incident. He was transported to the hospital for treatment to severe burns to his upper body; police believe he sustained those burns in the house fire.
Police also arrested Acuna's girlfriend Guadalupe Cabrera, 30; she is accused of being an accessory to Kendrick's murder and arson, police said.
Acuna has not been booked into jail because he continues to receive treatment for his burns at the hospital.
