More than 2000 votes have been cast and tallied in the 2012 Gamers' Choice Awards and the collective voice of the gaming public has been in deciding the winners of Game of the Year and Most Anticipated of 2013.

Below are the winners and runner-ups for each category, complete with each title's percentage of the votes.

Game of the Year:
Borderlands 2 (2K/Gearbox Software) (26.5%)
Mass Effect 3 (EA/BioWare) (20.6%)
Dishonored (Bethesda/Arcane Studios) (19.2%)
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (16.9%)
Diablo III (Blizzard/Blizzard) (16.8%)

Last year, Bethesda brought home 'Game of the Year' accolades with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.  This year, 2K gets the honor with the Gearbox Software developed title Borderlands 2, beating out Bethesda's Dishonored by less than 200 votes.  Microsoft's sci-fi action/RPG Mass Effect 3 took second place and Activision's FPS Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was all but tied for fourth with Blizzard's PC exclusive Diablo III.

Most Anticipated of 2013:
The Last of Us (SCEA/Naughty Dog) (27.0%)
BioShock Infinite (2K Games/Irrational Games) (26.5%)
Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar/Rockstar) (25.2%)
Dead Space 3 (EA/Visceral Games) (13.2%)
Crysis 3 (EA/Crytek) (8.1%)

According to the masses, developer Naughty Dog's upcoming PlayStation 3 exclusive The Last of Us (expected release: May 7) is the most anticipated release for 2013.  Irrational Games' Bioshock Infinite (March) and Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto (September) were a very close second and third on the list.  Electronic Arts did not fair nearly as well, however, as the company's upcoming shooters Dead Space 3 (February 5) and Crysis 3 (February 19) were voted as the least anticipated of the five nominated titles.

Our thanks go out to all who voted and to the respective publishers and developers of all of the winning video game titles for the above categories.

Yesterday, news10.net's Game Guys posted the winners for the genre awards and earlier today for the winners of the console-specific awards.
