STOCKTON, CA - After more than three years, police have arrested a man in connection to a murder at a Stockton house party.

Victor Barraza, 21, is accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Humberto Garibay on Aug. 29, 2009, Stockton police said.

Garibay was at a house party on the 2000 block of Beau Pre Street. Shooting erupted at the party where three people were hit; Garibay was the only victim who died of his injuries.

On Wednesday, detectives identified Barraza as a suspect in the shooting.

Police said on Thursday, US Marshal's Fugitive Task Force along with the County Wide Gang Task Force saw Barraza driving on the 1500 block of Spring Street and tried to pull him over.

When he didn't stop, officers followed him in a 4-minute police chase. During the chase, police hit Barraza's vehicle in the area of Eugenia Street and Scotts Avenue, which caused him to stop.

Barraza was taken into custody, transported to a nearby hospital to be medically cleared and then was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for murder, police said.
