HOW TO change your router security settings

  • STEP 1: Click Start on your PC
  • STEP 6: Type that IP address into your web address bar.
  • STEP 5: Under "wireless lan adapter" identify the default gateway IP address. A common IP address is 192.168.1.1.
  • STEP 7: A page will load for your router. You'll need the username and password.
  • You'll see a window pop up, which will populate with some intimidating information - It's ok, give it a second to populate.
  • STEP 2: Choose Run from the menu
  • STEP 3: Type "cmd" in the pop-up window
  • STEP 4: Another window will pop up - Type "ipconfig"
  • STEP 8: Check the security settings, usually on a drop-down menu, then select WPA
