AMADOR, CALAVERAS COUNTIES, CA - At one time Monday, 35,000 Pacific Gas and Electric customers in the foothills were without electricity.
PG&E spokeswoman Brandi Ehlers says it was believed a transmission line problem was behind the outage to customers in Amador and Calaveras counties. The affected communities included Jackson, Ione and Sutter Creek.
The power first went out just before 12:30 p.m. to 35,000 customers, Ehlers said.
By 9 p.m., crew had restored service to 13,000 with 22,000 still in the dark. PG&E hoped to have power to all by midnight
