STOCKTON, CA - Authorities are puzzled about the disappearance of an 83-year-old Stockton man who last had contact with family on Thanksgiving, Nov. 22.

The niece of Robert Picetti reported him missing eight days later, said Deputy Les Garcia with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.

Picetti, who lives on North Oro Avenue, would usually talk with her every three or four days, the niece told deputies.

Nothing looked out of place or suspicious at Picetti's home, Garcia said.

According to the niece, Picetti would look for mushrooms in the Ione area this time of year. So detectives have been working with the Amador County Sheriff's Department to search along Highway 88 and Highway 124 for Picetti but haven't found any sign of him.

Picetti has gray hair, brown eyes and a small beard. He is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds.

Picetti's niece said he is very healthy and has no medical conditions.

Anyone with information about Picetti was urged to call San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office at (209) 468 -4400 or text information anonymously to investigators at: 274637 (CRIMES) TEXT: SJSO followed by the tip.
