Vacaville police make arrest in Monday murder

VACAVILLE, CA - A 911 call that a man had just shot himself was not as reported, determined Vacaville detectives, and Friday night, a 20-year-old man is in custody for what investigators say is murder.

Ernesto Castillo, 19, of Vacaville, was pronounced dead at the El Matodor Trailer Park on the 100 block of Calle Tepic Monday afternoon, said Sgt. Jeff King, Police officers had responded to the scene just after 4:20 p.m. to find Castillo with a gunshot wound to his head.

King said detectives soon concluded Castillo had not killed himself and witnesses were not telling the truth.

Detectives' investigation led to the identification of 20-year-old Roberto Jose Revelo of Fairfield as a suspect in Castillo's death, said King.

Friday, detectives located Revelo on the 1900 block of Grande Circle in Fairfield. King said he was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail on one count of murder.
