OROVILLE, CA - The remains of a man reported missing from Biggs in 2006 were located near Oroville on Monday.

According to Sergeant Jason Hall of the Butte County Sheriff's Department's Felony Investigations Unit, workers were clearing brush in an area behind the Feather Falls Casino when they came across bones. The worker's contacted the sheriff's department who confirmed the remains to be human upon arrival.

On Wednesday, Butte County detectives positively identified the remains through dental records as Ronald Earl Bonner Jr., said Hall.

Bonner was reported missing on October 11, 2006, and was last seen leaving his Biggs home on September 20, 2006.  His disappearance was always considered suspicious, said Hall.

Bonner's remains were being examined by forensic anthropologists to determine a cause of death.

Anyone with information regarding this case was asked to contact Det. Freeman at 530-538-7671.
