ROCKLIN, CA - An elderly man was severely beaten in his own garage after a road-rage incident.

The incident happened in the 6000 block of Bridal Veil Drive just before 10 o'clock Saturday morning.

It's not clear what touched off the incident, but Rocklin police say 33-year old Zubin Bogdanoff followed the victim home, then assaulted him in his own garage.

A neighbor who did not want to be identified said he heard the man's screams and rushed over to help.

"He was stomping on his head. He had him on the ground, he was stomping on his head. There was no excuse whatever to beat an elder like that," said the neighbor.

Police say as Bogdanoff drove away he tired to run over a witness.

Neighbors were able to describe the car to police and even provided the license plate and Bogdanoff was arrested moments later as he left the scene.

Bogdanoff is being held in the Placer County Jail and was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, felony elder abuse, battery and burglary because the assault happened in the victim's garage.

Rocklin police Corporal Gil Farrula credited the victim's neighbor for coming to his aid.

"A neighbor had heard the victim calling for help and he came to his aid and in this case he probably helped save the victim," Farrula said.

Rocklin police would like to hear from anyone who witnesses the road rage incident.
