SAN DIEGO (AP) - A 3-year-old girl was hit with the barb from a Taser aimed at a parolee by a police officer in San Diego.
UT San Diego reports neither one received a shock, and the toddler was treated at the scene by paramedics, who removed the barb.
Police Lt. Andra Brown says the girl got a Band-Aid for her wound.
The parolee was being chased by officers in the Nestor area. He ran into a Home Depot parking lot then turned to confront officers.
One officer fired his Taser at the man. Brown says one barb hit the parolee and the second barb struck the toddler, who was just a few feet away with her parents.
Police arrested 29-year-old Alejandro Rojas on suspicion of parole violation, resisting arrest and being under the influence of narcotics.
