Jessica Rose Garcia missing from Yosemite since Friday
FRESNO, CA - A woman rescued from Yosemite National Park Tuesday has a tough surgery coming up Thursday.
Jessica Rose Garcia, 23, was last seen Friday afternoon after leaving a work orientation meeting. Rescuers believe she went hiking after the meeting and was found three days later 2 miles off trail.
According to Yosemite National Park officials, rescue personnel used a helicopter to airlift Garcia from the scene due to the rugged terrain in which she was found.

However, Garcia's injuries turned out to be more severe than initially reported. According to Garcia's Facebook page, she is undergoing a serious high-risk 8-hour surgery after doctors discovered she suffered a serious spinal cord injury. She is being treated at the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center, which specializes in spinal surgeries.
A trust fund was set up to help Garcia's family with the medical expenses. People can make donations to Bank of the West FBO Jessica Rose Garcia.
