PLACER COUNTY, CA - The body of a missing Clipper Gap man was found Tuesday morning, say authorities.
Gary Howe, 71, was reported missing by his caretaker Sunday evening, said Placer County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Dena Erwin,. Howe had dementia and vision problems.
Searchers looked for Howe Sunday night, Monday and were about to resume their efforts Tuesday when Howe was found within half a mile from his home in a steep and forested area, Erwin said. Fifty people plus search dogs, horses and 4x4 vehicles were involved in looking for Howe.
An autopsy was planned to determine the cause of death.
