SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento police are investigating the shooting death of a 26-year-old man early Saturday morning.
Officers responded to a report that someone had been shot at Traction Avenue, near El Camino Avenue, around 3:15 a.m.
Sacramento police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said officers found a 26-year-old man in front of an apartment complex with a gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died.
Detectives are actively investigating the circumstances that led to the shooting and are trying to figure out a motive, Pettit said.
