SACRAMENTO - Fire investigators in South Sacramento believe arson is to blame for a fire that destroyed an old Chevrolet dealership near Florin and Franklin.
The fire started around 9:15pm Thursday. Crews were initially called out to reports of smoke coming from the building. By the time they arrived, the building was engulfed.
Firefighters made their way inside but were ordered out after commanders noticed the structural integrity of the building was compromised. About fifteen minutes after crews pulled out, the roof collapsed. There were no injuries.
The building had been abandoned and boarded up for quite some time and has been the site of several arson fires.
Investigators say they do have some decent leads as to who may have caused the fire, and they're following up with witnesses.
