SONOMA, CA - A boy scout was booed by angry NASCAR fans last weekend at Sonoma Raceway after he forgot two words in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The raceway posted an apology on its Facebook page telling fans he got very nervous and simply forgot the words, but some fans didn't believe it posting the removal of the two words was planned to be politically correct or a p.r. stunt.
But the scoutmaster says otherwise.
"He's (Travis) is very embarrassed about what happened, there was no agenda or motive, it was a scout getting nervous realizing thousands were watching him, we're moving on now," said Scoutmaster Bill Hammett.
Others were supportive posting, "everyone makes mistakes, even boy scouts."
