  • To the students at Holy Family Elementary and Jesuit High School, Patrick LaMonte Streater was known as "Coach Streater." To Placer County Sheriff's deputies, Streater is known as a suspected home invasion robber. Deputies arrested Streater Wednesday in connection with a series of home invasion robberies across the area. Investigators say in each case, Streater targeted older women who were home alone. He's charged with forcing his way into their homes, tying them up, beating them, and stealing their valuables. Authorities say it appears Streater never told his family he had lost a job as a security guard, instead using income from the robberies to cover living expenses. The suspect also worked as a track coach at Holy Family Elementary and a football coach at Jesuit High School. "This is a guy who coached football for kids, coached track for kids," said Placer County Sheriff's Department Captain Rick Armstrong. "He had the facade of being a gentle person but deep down inside he has some issues of violence, severe violence." Streater is suspected in connection with at least eight armed robberies in Granite Bay and Citrus Heights. He is currently being held in the Placer County Jail.
