Arts and Craft Activity – Puff-Paint Stockings
Materials:
Fabric paint (puff-paint) assorted colors
Mini holiday stockings (available at craft stores, party stores)
Glitter (if you prefer)
Treats to place inside!
Directions:
Shake the puff paint well so that the paint does not spray or splatter when you first apply it. Be careful not to get paint on your clothes, as fabric paint will not wash out. A craft smock or apron is a good idea to use with young children.
Choose a stocking. Decorate as you wish! Common decorations include dots, stripes, a gift recipient’s name, etc.
If you prefer, shake glitter over wet puff paint and tap off excess.
Let dry for a few hours (until not tacky anymore).
Fill stocking with treats inside (candy canes, small ornaments, gift cards, etc).
These make great door hangers (with additional ribbon), decorations for holiday windows, wreaths, and are perfect for holding small gifts. They are also great to hang on Christmas trees as ornaments!

Gingerbread Boy Puppet Instructions
“Run! Run! Run! Catch me if you can! You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Boy!”
See if you can keep up with the Gingerbread Boy as he outruns a little old woman, a horse, and a cow. Then watch what happens when he meets up with a clever and very hungry fox! Cut out two identical Gingerbread Boys from brown felt. Glue together at the edges only, using fabric glue. Be careful! Don’t glue the bottom third of the Gingerbread Boy.
Glue on three front buttons or pom-poms and a red felt smile.
Dot in two eyes and a nose using the white fabric paint.
Put a line of white fabric paint around the edge.
Handle the puppet carefully until it dries.
Scented Sachet Instructions
Cut a piece of fabric into a 10 inch square.
Place one-half cup of potpourri mixture in the middle of the square.
Draw up the four corners of the fabric and bunch it together on top of the potpourri.
Wrap a rubber band around to hold it closed.
Tie a pretty ribbon on top of rubber band.

Fire Drills For Your Mind.
It is important to run through these drills on a regular basis,
to ensure your preparedness should disaster strike.
Have the latest "headlite" technology on hand. On average, 12 hours
of each day are dark. This technology gives you hours of bright,
effective emergency lighting to protect your family without tying up
your hands.
Invest in transportable water filtration/purification products.
After shelter, water is the most important aspect of any survival
situation. We can go a month without food, but we can’t least a week
without water.
Be prepared to administer your own emergency first aid. Learn CPR.
Update your first aid kit and know how to use each item it contains.
Paramedics may not be available when you need them.
Have sufficient amounts of all necessary medications handy. The
pharmacist or drug store may be out of reach or damaged.
Create a communications plan for staying in touch with loved ones in
an emergency situation. Write out all important numbers. Don’t plan
to rely on a cell phone – they could be inoperable.
Stockpile extra food for you and your pets. Choose foods that
require little preparation. “This is about surviving, leave the
gourmet stuff for after the emergency.
Store season-specific clothing where you can gain access to it very
quickly, such as rain slickers and other protective gear. You may
have to pack and leave your area in a hurry. Don’t forget spare
toiletries.
Invest in a weather radio. This is a great way to learn what is
going on if your Internet and TV access are knocked out.
Carry an emergency credit card with a zero balance, along with some
cash.
